NOTD : sparkles and ring finger mani

I need sparkles, I need Barbie nails, I need a funky mani : Yes, I want it all !

In natural light : Revlon scented polish in Grape Icy as a base for all fingers. It's a sheer purple leaning on the pink side.

With Flash : on the ring finger, Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Strobe light just for fun !

I am really so happy with the staying power of the Revlon nail polishes : they don't chip, they don't flake. They stay put for a good 3 days without looking bad (I hate an old looking mani)

My poor nails are really short. It seems that I neglected them a lot lately as I could not paint them so they broke, split....I need to give them a little more love !

EOTD : a very simple eye with a wash of gold-brown all over the lid , a little grey in the outer corner and a white highlight under the brow bone and in the inner corner. Very TiffanyD on youtube !

Tonight my hockey team is playing for the 2nd part of the play offs. GO , HABS, GO !!!

First Konad plates : pink and black nails

I received my package from OC Nail Art.com Yehaaaaaaaaaaaa ! The customer service is excellent and what a deal : 30 % off with the code SCRANGIE (thank you short and sweet nails !)

So I played with the m57 and here are my first Konad nails ;-)))
It is not perfect but I'll improve ...Everybody at work was impressed , they never heard of nails stamps, I am definitely a beauty advisor now hahaha.
I used the little lace band and I couldn't manage to make it even for every nails but I think it looked OK enough to wear !

Today , I discovered I have bad taste !

I spend a lot of time on Youtube since the Makeup addiction stroke me 1 year ago ...and when you browse Make up gurus, you cannot ignore Kandee Johnson ! I am not sure I am fond of her eternal positive attitude (yes my roots are latin and a overwelmed-always-happy person is a little weird to me !!!) but I like her make up tips ....So I went for the tackiest nails ever : Zebra one . Husband was quite shocked and said : what with the tigress look ??? Me (disappointed) : it is not a Tiger , it 's a zebra....Him (never, ever wrong ) : let's say an albinos tiger....

mouhaha, he cracks me up (after 15 years together, let's say I am alittle proud of that !)

Revlon Midnight affair : navy blue on my nails

I want this one to work so much because I fear a black polish and I found that navy blue was easier to wear. But this one is so hard to work with : 1 coat is sheer and 2 coats take eternity to dry. I let the 2nd coat sit for a while (more than 30 min ) and as it looked dull, I wanted to add megashine from Sally Hansen. Eeeek, as you can see there is sort of a dent in my ring finger and it seems to be diluted by the Top coat.

I kept it for 3 days though, but I am not convinced .... I saw an Illamasqua one on the blog of short and sweet nails (see side bar for link : awesome blog !) and it looks so much better. Probably not the same price range though ;-))))

Liner : feline khol pencil (MAC) only in lower lash line. I didn't line the upper lash line to make it softer

Mascara : Rimmel sexy curves in extreme black

I must share my love from Ardene e/s : they are creamy, pigmentated like crazy, they stay in place for ever. I can't believe they are so cheap and such good quality. If you are a canadian make up addict, go and grab those ! I bought Pink Candy and Tangorine lately and I will do a look with the beautiful Tangorine as soon as I can . It's a gorgeous orange color (probably a good dupe for Off the page from MAC)

To club or not to club, that is the question ....

I purchased Club from MAC, about 1 year ago. I tried it about 2-3 times without success...It looked muddy and not very flattering. But taaaaaaaaaaaadaaaaaaaaaaa, yesterday I watched a PIXIWOO tutorial and Samantha mentionned that it (Club) was in her top 10 MAC colors....Gasp....I am an hysterical fan of the Pixiwoo sisters so Whatever they say is golden and I had to give a 2nd chance to my unloved Club. It seems that the secret is to use a black cream shadow underneath. So I let you judge, hit or miss ?

Eyes :

TFSI : primer

HIP cream liner in black from L'Oreal : color base only on lids

Club e/s from MAC : all over the lid and up the crease ...appears bright emerald over the black base and dark brown in the crease (no base color underneath). The beauty of duochrome, anyone ?

Shroom (MAC) as an highlight

Rich chocolate smoothliner from Annabelle on waterline and to tighlight

Sally Hansen nail polish in flirt : swatch

So another swatch from my growing collection of Xtreme wear from Sally Hansen : this one is called Flirt and it's a deep burgundy colour. As said before, those gems are impossible to beat in terms of quality/price. I tried a silver one a few days ago and it was as if I was wearing liquid metal on my nails : gorgeous....I think I like Flirt even more than my beloved plum attraction from Revlon that I kept on buying each time I finished it. Convinced ?

Big discovery for me : Sally Hansen Hard as nails Xtreme wear nailpolishes rock ! They are ridiculously cheap but surprisingly gorgeous ....So here we go :

Grape idea : dusty rose quite sheer, you need to apply 3 coats but worth the hard job ....

Red carpet : amazing red with sparkles

I just bought other colors : a silver and a glittery one , I'll keep you posted if they are as gorgeous as their little friends ....
