Playing dupes !

I am ashamed of it but I must admit I am a little bit of a snob...I don't like that much drugstore products particularly matte e/s. But, I heard such good things about the Wet and Wild Color Icon Palettes that I had to face Wall Mart (yuck !) to go and see for myself. No swatches possible there, so I grabbed the neutral one : Vanity and the purple one : Lust. I paid 8 $ CAD for those 2 ugly big palettes ( told you I was a snob !)
Then, I swatched those little pans and decided that the beauty can all be in the inside...

Now the exciting discoveries of a lifetime : I don' t have that many MAC e/s but the pale pink is a perfect dupe for Yogurt (MAC) while the creamy white could easily replace Vanilla (MAC). I have many silvers, plums and purples but none of them are Mac so no other comparisons for the purple palette but my little finger tells me that the shimmery burgundy color could be Sketch's twisted twin (Grey's anatomy quote, girls !).

In the neutral palette , the matte pale brown is the little brother of Wedge (MAC). the shimmery off-white is Dazzlelight's (MAC) little sister and the shimmery brown is a warmer version of Twinks (MAC)

The snob in me let the nerd express herself : GOOD VALUE, YOU SNOB ! FOR 8 $ , you can't even grab 1 single pan at MAC and you have 12 e/s in here ! Shame on me ....
Swatches on my shivering skin : goose bumps pictures nicely , don't you think ? Look at those matte colors : one swipe. Pay off is awesome !

a moment of silence is needed, people ....No primer, no flash, no Photoshop : the truth just the truth, your Honor !

GIve away on MUA !

I was supposed to wait for 50 followers...But I can't resist ! I started this blog to practice my english, to have my own little secret garden (ME-Myself and I hahaha) and I am so happy I did...I met so many nice persons in the make up world, I am amazed ! So, as It's just a guilty pleasure for me, I wanted to give back a little love, so without further ado, to the gifts...I wanted to give it a personal kick, so here we go :

Mascara : Marcelle volume precision in Black. It's my HG mascara : it's dark, it doesn't clump, never flakes. It gives length and volume. I could talk about this single item for hours ....
Eye liner : Annabelle smudgeliner in black. I personally never use the smudging tip because I use a pencil brush to smooth my eyeliner but feel free to do otherwise. I have this liner in brown and I swear by it because even though it's easy to spread it and to smudge it , it doesn't go everywhere (Can you hear me feline Khol liner ????)
Palette : It's just Annabelle colors and the palette to fit them in. I chose a purple color : Purple Reine (Who doesn't like purple....silence following the question), whipped (you need an highlighter in your palette and this one looks like a vanilla Chantilly !), Graffity (my favorite black of all times, a black infused with little sparkles), B-Ray (a classic navy blue which pigmentation is unbeatable)
Pigments: I sampled my own collection (part of it). Vanilla pigment from MAC (description not really needed I guess), Myth from Annabelle (a complex taupe color infused with holographic shimmer, it's BEAUTY), Violet Vibe from Annabelle (again, who doesn't like purple ???), Greed from Annabelle (a bold matte green color), Copper from GOSH (like liquid metal on the lids) and Rosewood from GOSH (a stunning red with a pink hue in it, like a Cranberry !)

To enter this INTERNATIONAL contest, you must :
- be 18 or older
- be a follower
- leave a comment as original as ENTER ME but You can be more classic and just say how fantasmabulous I am ....
- do all of this before the 15th of may at 24h00 in Montreal.

No multiple entries for lobbying for my blog on Twitter , Facebook or your own blog, just do it if you feel like it...But your love for me needs to be pure HAHA...and frankly, I don't want to make it something complicated (lazy, lazy....)

Good luck my lovelies !

Swatch time : Annabelle cosmetics obsession !

So after publishing the swatches of the new Annabelle cosmetics e/s I purchased, I realised how many I had left....They were sobbing in their palettes because they didn't received the fame and glory of the previous one so JUSTICE is done : here is the review....TADAAAA

FROM left to right : Snow flake, Vanilla chilla, Buff Naked, Sugar Dust, Metallic Meltdown (top of the triangle), So Foxy, Divine Diva, Silver, B-ray
I pictured them with flash (it's better to show the dark sparkly colors) and without flash (it doesn't wash out the pale colors). I just swatched the color that could showon my skin : Metallic melt down, so Foxy, Divine Diva, Silver, B-ray. Plus, I just have 5 fingers !

BEWARE (of the dog mouhahaha) : I am not sure of all the names. Why, why ?
1- because I am an old trout and my memory is not what it used to be (sad, sad !)
2- because the pans are not labelled at the back (but as a make up junkie, I am very proud to tell you I advised the company that it would be useful. Of course, they 're gonna listen to me (I AM SO POWERFUL WITH MY 25 FOLLOWERS : big voice !)....

Snow flake : pure white matte. Think Gesso(MAC).

Vanilla Chilla : Beige matte. I use it as a matte highlight.

Buff Naked : Beigy pink. I also use it as an highlight (I know, I have an insane obsession with highlight colors ...)

Sugar Dust : pretty, really pretty soft pink color with a lavender hue or the contrary ;-). This is love ...I use it with my purple looks in the inner part of the lid or to blend bright pink looks. As I said, I like it very much and the name is so cute !!(I say that with the voice of an excited teen !)

Metallic Meltdown : between gold and copper. A perfect color for a bronzey look. So flattering when popped in the liddle of the lid just to have the light to reflect above the eye color (dugh, not sure I make myself clear there...). At the top of the triangle because it's such an amazing color.

So Foxy : a creamy medium-dark brown. Probably the son of Expresso and Embark by MAC. I know this one doesn't seem that exciting but you need a medium-dark brown in your make up kit. It can replace a matte black in the outer V, it can be a crease color, you can dab it on top of your eyeliner to set it, it's fantastic smudged under the eye to create a rocker look without looking like a raccoon. Finally, it 's the e/s I used in a contest I won so I'll always love it till I die ...

Divine Diva : Plum color infused with gold glitter. The pale sister of Beauty marked (MAC). I could watch this color for ages on my hand. It is just BEAUTY.

Silver: I'll keep it simple : silver !

B-Ray : a dark navy color. Very pigmented, easy to blend (same consistency as So Foxy, kind of creamy for a powder, I know it's sounds weird !). I mostly use it as an outer V color for my blue looks.

I' ve done it ! IT was probably the longest blog message of the History !

Hope you enjoyed ...

PS : I paid those with my own money AND I am not objective : those e/s rock and I love them !

a dark brown look for a contest ! Annabelle cosmetics

I did this look for a contest on facebook ! Not so happy about the result but it was so much fun ...
Here is group on facebook :Annabelle Makeup Junkies and the contest is under the banner strut your stuff
I've been using those e/s for a while and I love them : they fit in Mac palettes, they cost less than 4 CAD$ so each time I run into a pharmacy that carries them, I buy the colors I don' t own already ;-)

Here I used Foxy (that you need to use for the contest) : it is a beautiful matte brown that blends so well and Vanilla chilla (matte highlight) to blend and put under brows. I lined my water line with their liner (smudgeliner) in rich chocolate that appears really black on the photo but is more a very dark brown. I am definitively gonna repurchase the liner in other shade as it's creamy and stays put in my waterline (yeah !).
I like that they are having matte e/s shades (kind of rare in the cheap e/s section), plus the quality is there (no fall out and staying power is awesome) ...
I saw on their facebook page that they are releasing new colors : I need to head to the store to see that in person !

Hope you liked it

PS : I am not paid to say that, I buy my own make up (less than 20 followers !!! coughing in shame !)

Brown make up brightened up by blue !

I Really liked this reinterpretation of good old neutrals. Blue is sometimes a tricky (and scary) color to use ...But it does so much for brown eyes !!!
As I work in a conservative place, I think this is wearable but still is has it's own twist ....
So here are the products used :
Face : Revlon HD in nude (believe it or not , even though it's REALLY pale, I am even paler in reality so it gives me a little color. I am the forgotten sister of Casper the little ghost !)
Cheeks : nothing new under the sun : Vanilla pigment as an highlight (MAC), Angel blush (NYX), Revlon bronzer in shade 2 as contouring
Lips : MAuve lipliner (NYX), Ceto lipstick (NYX)
Eyes : TFSI as primer, Foxy (Annabelle) all over the lid, NYX blue color from the trio Aquamarine in the crease and smudged under the lower lash line, Blending color : Retrospeck (MAC), highlight color : Dazzlelight (MAC).....and the final POP : Reflect teal glitter from MAC cool capers set (holiday collection) over the blue color in the outter corner of the eye (best shown in the 2nd pic)

Et VoilĂ  !

Somptuous olive dupe and true feline khol !

Ok so here's my look today : the pictures are crappy but the make up was nice, I promess ;-). I am very excited cause I bought some new colors from the faces cosmetics and I think I found a good dupe for sumptuous olive from MAC. In fact, I cheated, I swatched it on my hand at the MAC counter then I headed to the Faces cosmetics one and I compared...It's the same duochrome beetween gold and green and I love it....
Don't get me wrong, I still love MAC but I have a hard time with the customer service at my MAC (not saying that it is something general). I am kind of fed up with receiving superior glance when I enter the TEMPLE of make up and the bored answers to my questions : I was hesitating beetween 2 colors last time and the girl dump me in the middle of my question cause it was her "time out" : REALLY ???? So I picked up the feline khol and a 15 pro palette and went to the faces cosmetics instead....Enough blabbing about me divorcing MAC soon and this is what I used :
TFSI
GOSH waterproof e/s in Love that moss
Lid : The dupe of somptuous olive all over (faces cosmetics)
Crease and under the eye: Club (MAC)
Blending color : Humid (MAC)
Outer V : Print (MAC)
liner : Feline khol (MAC) set up with Print e/s (MAC)
Highlight : Shroom (Mac) and a pop of Vanilla (under the brow and in the inner corner)
Mascara : Sexy curves from Rimmel in blackest black if I remember well

Caro thinking leaving or not leaving (MAC), this is the question xxx
