30 for 30 : Camel vibe

Here is a very boring outfit...I was heading to work so I sticked to the basics. I just added teal earrings and an ethnic big chunky necklace to jazz it up a bit (DIY necklace and earrings).

Turtle neck was bought in sale at Mango for less than 20 $
Cardigan : 3$98 at Old Navy (who needs to go thrifting when you can find brand new items at this price ? ...Well, I know : people not wearing boring outfits as I do !)
Pants : 7$99 at RW&CO (add 60 % on an already sale items and BAM, ridiculous prices)

I have not published day 2 as it was kind of the same as day 1 : I bought the pants in grey-blue and purple and cardigans in all the colors I could find ! So Day2 was purple day !

My love for the Vanity Palette from Wet&Wild is not fading ! As I go to places for work where I don't know how they feel about make up , this one is the perfect pick... In the look I did that day, I used the shimmery white (inner corner) the yellow gold (all over the lid), shimmery brown (outer V), medium matte brown (crease), matte beige mixed with the shimmery white (highlight), a little bit of the matte brown to give depth in the outer corner and a little bit on the lower lash line... I used EVERY single color !

Sorry for the sagged lids : I am getting older I guess ! This look was really pretty and I think it's my favorite look from it. I am so bummed that us Canadian are gonna be deprived from the 8 color e/s palettes : so UNFAIR ! Boooooooooo Wet & Wild , Booooooooooo

Caro- cursing Wet & Wild for the next 10000 coming generations if they don't bring their palette to Canada (and I am a very powerful witch, so beware W&W !) xxx

Panache EOTD : Amethyst beauty !

Amethyst pigment (Marcelle minerals) was the one that I loved the more when I swatched it at the warehouse sale last week...It was the one responsible for my failure in the partial make up ban (One simple rule to that ban : Do NOT buy e/s anymore...easy...I ended up buying the pigment in the 6 shades available...if falling, let's just fail with "panache" !)

Quote from Wikipedia : Panache is a word of French origin that carries the connotation of a flamboyant manner and reckless courage

The daylight pic doesn't do justice to the gorgeousness of that pigment : a light purple pigment with a pink hue. I also used Snow pigment in the inner corner...

To give depth to the look I used the dark purple from the W&W Lust palette in the crease and the matte black in the outer V.

The flash picks the sparkles better ....
Mascara : Marcelle Volume precision in black
Liner : a mix between Vortex Violet smoothliner (Annabelle) and Feline khol liner (MAC)

Sparkles : awwwwwww, beautiful

in case you missed the awesomeness of that silver : a last pic !
I used Painterly paint pot (MAC) as a primer and Milk Jumbo pencil (NYX) as a base color.

OOTD :
Part 1 :
Un-Twill we meet again dress from Modcloth . That dress is love ...

Part 2 : the color kick !
Red patent belt : Tommy Hilfiger
Red chunky shoes : so old I can't remember where I bought them, the label is erased on the sole...
Red jewelry : Casa Luca

Part 3 : Tights: Spanx in charcoal found at Winners. those are working so well to improve your figure without making you feel like a sausage ...

Part 4 : showing a little bit of a black bra : AGRRRRRRRRRR !

Dior, why did you let me down ?

Part I of my sad story (let the kids out of here, it can be a pretty traumatic tale) : In October, I reached the very respectable age of 36 years-old. My mum in a courageous attempt to soothe the pain send me a DIOR Ultra smooth High Impact eyeshadow in Blue declic (226). When I saw the little velvet pouch, I squealed with delight...Then I spent the next 5 minutes trying to open the d?%$n box. As I am a very determined woman, I ended up opening the little blue case with a knife ....I should have understood the sign...

Part II : I again clapped my hands together in an enthusiastic cheer when I saw the e/s in the pan : a baby blue metallic color. I washed my hand frantically then tried to swatch the AWESOMENESS just for the pleasure of swatching...Oups : nothing showed off on my disappointed finger. I laughed in denial and checked a 2nd time to make sure I got rid of the plasticky protector over the e/s : None....(36, remember : Alzheimer is not far away, I have to double check everything...)

Part III : In a last desperate gesture, I grabbed my best patting brush and decided to do a look with that DIOR little treasure (28 $ at Sephora people ! It just must be good, right ?). OH despair, OH tears, I had to scratch the e/s so hard to get a glittery , patchy, sheer, ridiculous amount of gritty GLITTERS....GLITTERS (reminder to readers : abusive amount of negative adjectives and bold letters are a poor representation of infuriated MUA's state of mind)

Part IV : the freaking fantastic mascara (Marcelle Utimate Lash in Navy), the outer V , crease and highlight e/s (Navy blue-sparkling blue-beige color from the Wet and Wild Pride palette) and the Covergirl liner cost less $$$ than the sheer DIOR mess on my lid. How frustrating is that conclusion , kids ?

Lesson learned !

Blue brown pigment EOTD : Jangsara, my hero !

First , here is the original look. This MUA is absolutely awesome. She does make up like no one else : it's just ART and BEAUTY and .....Go and check her: you'll be amazed !

My pale copy :
Painterly paintpot (MAC) as a primer
Blue brown pigment (MAC) all over the lid
Reflect teal pigment (MAC) over the blue brown pigment
Plum from the Wet and Wild Lust palette in the crease
Vanilla dupe from the Wet and Wilde Lust palette under the browbone
Feline khol liner (MAC)
Volume precision mascara (Marcelle) in black

FOTD :
Annabelle skin true foundation
Annabelle Zebra bronzer
NYX Angel blush
Rimmel Vintage pink on the lips

Greed EOTD : Wet & Wild palette

EOTD : Greed palette from Wet & Wild
Colors I used :
pale shimmery purple color all over the lid
black shimmery color : outer V and crease
peach matte color : to blend
beige matte (top of the palette) : Highlight

a whole look with a single palette : hooray !

Dupe alert again for MAC :

Carbon : the black matte
Black tied : shimmery black
Samoa silk : matte peach (but I don't have it so it's just a guess !)
Vex : shimmery purple-grey (again a guess but pay off is VERY bad so I wouldn't consider it a good dupe)

feline khôl liner (MAC) and Mascara Marcelle Volume precision in black were used. Nobody was injured in this particular sequence of events...

FOTD :
Annabelle Skin true foundation
Annabelle Zebra bronzer
NYX Angel blush
Brow-zing in dark from Benefit for the brows

JOTD :
earrings from ten thousand villages
little black Onyx elephant given by Vicky

First impressions on the Greed palette :
The bad : The pay off in 2 colors is really poor : the shimmery peach and the shimmery pale grey-purple . It's a shame cause they look gorgeous in the pan.
The good : ...But if you don't have Carbon (MAC) or Black Tied (MAC), it's definitively worth it for the price of the palette... I like the matte peach color and I don't have nothing looking like this particular color in my collection so it's a nice addition. The highlight matte color is interesting because I tend to use paler colors. I noticed that using a "darker" highlight was good to "warm" my look (in this case a very dark smokey...Nice find !)

Vanity palette EOTD : endless love for W&W

From the moment I tried those Wet and Wild palette (Lust and Vanity), I swear I 've been using them non stop. They are so versatile, their pigmentation is fantastic, the staying power stellar. My only complain is that they are harder to blend than MAC e/s. But I'll survive !

EOTD : So I did a pin up look with it lately : using the shimmery white all over the lid (Dazzlelight dupe IMO). The crease color is the medium matte brown. Highlight is the beige-ish matte top color and the brown shimmery darker brown was used under the eye (easier to see on the 1st pic because on the 2nd it's completely washed out by my camera...). Liner : NYC black liner. Mascara : Marcelle Volume precision in Black.

I am so in love with those palettes that I bought Greed and Pride palettes this week end in addition to my collection. Those hues are less in my"color range" but I am curious to try them !
I also bought an e/s trio : "Cool as a cucumber" because of the beautiful pale green on the top. I am a bit curious about the fact that the word "Browbone" is engraved in that very green color : I personally see it more as a beautiful lid color than an highlight but let's stay open-minded !
Then I was enable to resist buying 2 long-lasting lipsticks : Think Pink and Mauve outta here. I'll review them later...

Caro-so sad the week end is already gone xxx

True blue, baby I love you !

I had my "Madonna" moment here , remembering that I listened to this album to death when I was a teen

I am still enjoying my Wet and Wild palette a lot (Vanity)...but to keep me from boredom, I added a splash of blue on the waterline.

I used a MUFE pencil then I dabbed a blue Color from the Aquamarine NYX trio and blended with my pencil-brush to smudge the color under my lower waterline. I was a nice way to invigorate a neutral look without looking like a Barbie on crack (expression stolen from Robyn ! Hello, doll...)

The gigantic lashes are courtesy of Marcelle Volume Precision Mascara . I finished the bunch of mascaras that I gathered like crazy and went back to my old love ..."I feel good doudoudoudoudou" like James Brown would sing

Playing dupes !

I am ashamed of it but I must admit I am a little bit of a snob...I don't like that much drugstore products particularly matte e/s. But, I heard such good things about the Wet and Wild Color Icon Palettes that I had to face Wall Mart (yuck !) to go and see for myself. No swatches possible there, so I grabbed the neutral one : Vanity and the purple one : Lust. I paid 8 $ CAD for those 2 ugly big palettes ( told you I was a snob !)
Then, I swatched those little pans and decided that the beauty can all be in the inside...

Now the exciting discoveries of a lifetime : I don' t have that many MAC e/s but the pale pink is a perfect dupe for Yogurt (MAC) while the creamy white could easily replace Vanilla (MAC). I have many silvers, plums and purples but none of them are Mac so no other comparisons for the purple palette but my little finger tells me that the shimmery burgundy color could be Sketch's twisted twin (Grey's anatomy quote, girls !).

In the neutral palette , the matte pale brown is the little brother of Wedge (MAC). the shimmery off-white is Dazzlelight's (MAC) little sister and the shimmery brown is a warmer version of Twinks (MAC)

The snob in me let the nerd express herself : GOOD VALUE, YOU SNOB ! FOR 8 $ , you can't even grab 1 single pan at MAC and you have 12 e/s in here ! Shame on me ....
Swatches on my shivering skin : goose bumps pictures nicely , don't you think ? Look at those matte colors : one swipe. Pay off is awesome !

a moment of silence is needed, people ....No primer, no flash, no Photoshop : the truth just the truth, your Honor !
