30 for 30 : Camel vibe

Here is a very boring outfit...I was heading to work so I sticked to the basics. I just added teal earrings and an ethnic big chunky necklace to jazz it up a bit (DIY necklace and earrings).

Turtle neck was bought in sale at Mango for less than 20 $
Cardigan : 3$98 at Old Navy (who needs to go thrifting when you can find brand new items at this price ? ...Well, I know : people not wearing boring outfits as I do !)
Pants : 7$99 at RW&CO (add 60 % on an already sale items and BAM, ridiculous prices)

I have not published day 2 as it was kind of the same as day 1 : I bought the pants in grey-blue and purple and cardigans in all the colors I could find ! So Day2 was purple day !

My love for the Vanity Palette from Wet&Wild is not fading ! As I go to places for work where I don't know how they feel about make up , this one is the perfect pick... In the look I did that day, I used the shimmery white (inner corner) the yellow gold (all over the lid), shimmery brown (outer V), medium matte brown (crease), matte beige mixed with the shimmery white (highlight), a little bit of the matte brown to give depth in the outer corner and a little bit on the lower lash line... I used EVERY single color !

Sorry for the sagged lids : I am getting older I guess ! This look was really pretty and I think it's my favorite look from it. I am so bummed that us Canadian are gonna be deprived from the 8 color e/s palettes : so UNFAIR ! Boooooooooo Wet & Wild , Booooooooooo

Caro- cursing Wet & Wild for the next 10000 coming generations if they don't bring their palette to Canada (and I am a very powerful witch, so beware W&W !) xxx

OOTD : conservative look for less than 50 $

Here was one of my looks for work :

White ruffled Cardigan : Joe fresh in sale : 20 $
Checked Pants : Joe fresh in "crazy" sale : 6$97 (the 97 cents is delightful, isn't it ?)
Black tank top : H&M for 5$
Grey shoes : Winners, gift from mother in law : 0$
Jewelry : left overs from Vicky : 0 $

So this was my "less than 50 $" OOTD appropriate for work!

JOTD : you know I'm bad, I'm bad, you know it !

As I told you before, Vicky , a colleague, wanted to get rid of "non trendy" jewelry. So she gave me loads of unwanted bracelets, necklaces end earrings...She found those items were too much "80's"....I don't think that it's a problem apparently ! So I piled bracelets like crazy : hubby called me Mister T all day !

Then, for the necklace, I got rid of all the "not so nice" items linked to the big silvery chain (big pink pearls, a cross and a weird circle). Then I linked the transformed necklace with another"plasticky" black necklace and tada new necklace ...

This is what you get as a MUA face when you let her play with 80's jewelry ! Sorry for the shiny face : end of the day !

OOTD : the 10 $ dress

OOTD : Sometimes, you browse the alleys of your grocery shop and between the broccolis and carrots you find that :

You do NOT find this incredibly sexy women in her seducing 30ies but you DO find pieces of outfit that will soon end up being published in a blog.
A nice little black dress for 10 $...The material looks shiny in the pic because of the flash but in reality it's a matte fabric very stretchy and incredibly comfortable.

I love the way it drapes over the knee : good job, Joe Fresh !

Then here is a DIY necklace (done by mum, thank you, mummy !) : she used those little balls that you throw through blowguns at birthday parties when a kid. She put those in a tube of fancy fabric ... et voilĂ  !!!

Caro-sometimes a little black dress is all you need xxx

PS : nails on the 2nd pic are courtesy of Stormy (Revlon) : a true 3-day-wear (no chip, just a little tip wear....goooooooooooooooood !)

Monochromatic grey : SOTD, JOTD, NOTD...

SOTD : my sweet grey pumps offered by Mother in law at Winners. That's funny, there were moments when I went there I could never find anything...Now each time I stroll the alleys, I find too many cute items. May be because I changed the store I use to go to (very messy) to a very clean and well organised new store ?

NOTD : my yesterday find. The perfect dupe for Metrochic : Stormy from Revlon ...

JOTD : a big bold necklace bought for 5 euros on a market in Europe 2 years ago ! Nice over a sheath dress to break the "formality" of the office look..

to balance the overwhelming necklace : discrete earrings from RW&Co . Sorry for the wet and crazy hair !

I wanted to do a post on the "hit pan" phenomenon but it demands a little bit of work and I am in a "Saturday kind of mood" aka I read post from other bloggers, I don't write ! Haha....

Accessories, my love !

First of all : shoes ...of course ! I bought them 3 years ago in Payless (for non Canadian girls, it's probably one of the cheapest store to find shoes...). I loved their retro vibe but found them ultimately uncomfortable back then. I guess there are still uncomfortable now but as I don't have to run after a baby and a toddler at the same time anymore, I can tolerate them....The tag said 27$99 (I still have it under the sole of my shoe !) but as Payless has BOGOs all the time , I probably grabbed them for half the price ....

Modcloth : Braid the storm belt good value for this very versatile belt. As I lost a lot of pounds, a lot of trousers are too big now, so I belt them like crazy !

Who doesn't like free jewelry ? I am such a lucky girl ! Last week end, I was working and I was feeling all gloomy (I hate working on week ends !) ...Then I looked at my computer and a colleague had left me a note saying : You'll find a little box full of jewelry I am not wearing. They need a loving home...
Isn't she a sweetheart ? Thank you Vicky !
She remembered buying the earrings at MEXX. As a pure coincidence, I had a DIY necklace that is done with the same material ! I guess it was DESTINY for me to have those earrings....

Again, a little bit of Vicky's unloved items. I already owned the white bracelet but the 3 golden ones are a perfect match.

Playing madam....

OOTD : a Modcloth buy (among others ...) : Invitation to style dress (Max and Cleo). It's so comfy, well cut and long enough. I told in my last post that I am completely addicted to Modcloth but sometimes their outfits are so short ....This one is work appropriate, yeah ! (Do you hear me modcloth ? I like my skirt to cover my bum ! Crazy , I know...)

Make up : playing with fall colors : plum, plum , plum !
EOTD : Vanilla (MAC) all over the lid and the plum color is an Annabelle one which name I can't remember... sadly I I wear my dresses past my bum and I forget names : I guess I am aging ....gahhh !)
Lips : NYX Sparkling Orchid an old time favorite of mine
JOTD : DIY earrings with volcanic beads (black) and big white pearl

Don't I look romantic and sweet ? (the better to eat you alive, little red riding hoods !)

AGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......

First , JOTD (Jewelry of the day) : amazing earrings offered by maman, my dear mother !

Of course, she sent me also the bracelet that sings with every movement I make. I felt like a gypsy ( I had to remove it at work though , my co-workers were not feeling the bohemian vibe as much as I did and the constant Tinkerbell bling bling was driving them crazy.....I wonder why....)

OOTN : not really happy with the shape of the dress that on certain angles makes me look like I am 4 months pregnant...But I like the jacket so much (I bought it in a Tristan outlet for 40 $ !): it makes my waist looks tiny, I adore the bow detail on the belt. The sleeves are falling perfectly in the middle of my forearm (I must have the shorter arms ever, all jacket sleeves make my hands disappear...)
Leggings are from H&M, flats and cardigan from JOE Fresh,

EOTD : Very crappy picture of my make up look : I walked on the thin line between tacky and funny....Grey classical make up all over the lid with my new love : Revolver e/s from Annabelle (a gorgeous grey-purple duochrome that I just bought). black eyeliner (feline khol liner from MAC). and I draw little leopard prints in the outer corner of my eyes with the NYC liner (just a few dots...so easy !) . Lipstick : none left I ate it with my fabulous supper and the pics were taken after going out instead of before (stupido, stupido ...hitting my head on the walls like the monk in The name of the Rose....)

Hope you had a great beginning of a week...

Someone's garbage ...

can be someone' s treasure !

I received a box of old jewelry from a friend who wanted to get rid of it. I found this big pink funny necklace. I saw a big multicolored necklace at Banana's republic a few weeks ago and I resisted because it was indecently pricey for a plastic beaded necklace. I guess this "free" one fed my craving for color ! I wore it over a very conservative black blouse with a pencil skirt and it gave a nice "crazy" twist to my outfit

I paired it with wooden earrings : same family color....

This bag of unloved jewelry has found a good home. I don't think I am gonna throw a single thing away....

Have a wonderful week end, lovelies. I am a working girl this week end (9-17 Saturday and Sunday...)

Do you have some mints, please ?

OOTD : an old ESPRIT dress (3-4 years ago) that I can wear again (yeah to weight loss, you can shop your stash and rediscover old loves !). My Aldo bag and a brown belt From Joe Fresh (yes you heard me that brand you find at your grocery store aka Loblaws...). I cut my head off as it was scary ....Sorry for what it reveals of my sanity, problem with self esteem and stuff haha

The way to make your belt looks pretty : inspired by Anh whose blog I am obsessed with....

A champanish-olivish kind of eye : Champagne (NYX) paired with Club (MAC) and Helium (Annabelle)

See I don't have a problem showing my face !

JOTD : old, old stuff . I can't even remember when I bought those 2 items...

I hope everyone have a wonderful week. And there she goes to work till 22h (bleh, bleh ...)

Caribbean seas, Mrs Pepperpot and her bun

EOTD : inspired by my tank top...I know the Queen of heart will decapitate me over the unthinkable : She matches her make up with her cloths !!!!
I made a funny experiment : I used Shimmermoss from MAC under my eye, then I mix colors from my sleek palette to achieve the same color in the outer V...Can you tell the difference, I can't ! Sometimes, we obsess over a color we want so badly and with a little bit of blending and mixing, we can produce the exact same color so the same effect, no ?...
I used a matte white from Annabelle (which name I can't remember) on the lid. It's comparable to Gesso (MAC). Eyeliner : MUFE flesh color from the set of aqua colors pencils. Mascara : L'Oreal Telescopic....

Why the Face ? I was told by a colleague that with my bun, I reminded her of Mrs Pepperpot. OK , She was a nice cartoon (old) lady helping everybody but not exactly the description of GLAMOUR. If you are too young to know who is MRS Pepperpot :
1- I hate you just ..because you're too young
2- Go and google it to estimate the level of Glamour (I'd say 0.5/10)

So instead of a classic bun, I did a twisted one to prevent me from ever looking like Mrs Pepperpot EVER AGAIN !

JOTD : very easy DIY earrings. Those beads were part of an old necklace that was totally destroyed. I kept all the beads and save those big ones for pendant earrings...

Have a nice day, lovelies...

a messy hair-do , a lip combo and 1st OOTD

It's so hot in here (so take off all your cloths...Nelly anyone ?). So as it's steamy hot and I don't want to shave my head, I braided my hair yesterday as it was still wet : a big french braid on the side that meets a little regular braid at the other side and then a fish braid to make them meet. the loose part of the last plait was twisted in a bun ...et voilĂ  !

The nice Karen asked me to do some OOTD. Well, I am a little unsure about that...First because, as you know a few pounds (few , **cough cough**) are bugging me. Second, because there are so many awesome blogs about fashion that are just breathtaking. So I am not sure I will add my stone in that area. Anyway, I just post what I wore yesterday. I love jumpers but they are all so short this season and my thighs look like trunks of a 100 year old cedar...But, I found this one at RW and CO . It's comfy and it hides quite well what I want to stay hidden in the dark haha. I am thinking of pairing it with a transparent fluffy white top next time and may be remove the belt and replace it by a flowery scarf ...Next time I am posting an OOTD, I 'll know the title : OOTD for overweighted soccer mum on the go. I am sure I 'll have a lot of hits mouhahaha
EOTD : I used the Guerlain compact that my sweet mother bought me. I am so disappointed with this one called "L'heure rose" because I know my mother spent probably an indecent amount of money in something whose pay off is dreadful. The compact smells, breaths luxury but the e/s are so disappointing. And I don't find that the salmonish color goes well with the plumish one. The eyeliner is a pain to work with. I DON'T LIKE IT .....AT ALL.

But what I like a lot is the new lip combo I found : NYX wild orchid lipstick topped with Sephora lipgloss in Bronzed Beauty (described on the Sephora site as a red with gold shimmer, I'll described it as a dark pink with gold shimmer)

JOTD : my last pair of earrings that I bought when I was on holidays in Picton, Ontario. I bought those crazy beaded beauties for 1.99$ at ten thousands villages. They definitively make a statement but as my outfit was very plain, I think it was quite a nice contrast...

Update on the weight loss : I have the impression I am stuck ...I have not been losing a single pound since last week and I am VERY upset about that. The spinning instructor told me I was gaining muscle against fat and muscle is heavier than fat. I have a theory it's a conspiracy to prevent the fat soccer mums from losing their minds when they diet and exercise like crazy....hopefully my program is closed for 2 weeks so I won't have to meet the unfriendly scale and pay to see that I am still weighing the same !

JOTD and melted make up !

Bouhou, impossible to publish decent pictures of my make up these days...unless you want to meet shiny skin and barely there make up as I tend to stick to basics to prevent disasters !

But I can wear jewelry whatever the temperature so ...

JOTD :
earrings : a soft rose stone with a slightly coral hue and a wood triangle to save it from boredom.
Necklace : same color of wood for a 70's look. As I was wearing a maxi dress, I was feeling in a very "Love and Peace" mood...
both pieces were bought at Casa Luca, one of my favorite little store in Montreal....

Alas ...the love and peace mood disappeared when I met the scale at my meeting for the weight loss. After sweating , eating more vegetables and fruits you can think of and drooling over ice creams that I'll never eat, I lost 0.8 miserable, ridiculous, infuriating lbs....At this rate, I am gonna be thin when I'll reach 70 years old....;-)))
