I am alive but did I kill my blog ?

catchy title , heh ? I' ve been away from the blogging world 2 months ....2 MONTHS , people...so I guess we could say that my blog RIP ! But like a phoenix, I'll try to revive it ...We will see how my Harry Potter talents will work ;-)

SEPTEMBER : I am the lucky mother of 2 wonderful kids so I had to face the tornado of "back to school"in September. Hence my lack of posting this same month. Little rant here : why Oh why do we receive a list of items to buy in summer for school but on day 1, appears another list of "absolutely necessary" items that are impossible to find and kiddo needs them ASAP ?...Try and find the Staedler lumicolor pencil ref. 3a4r in fine writing , black, permanent in a Staple was like an Indiana Jones quest for me....No need to say, I had no time left for blogging....

AUGUST : lot of family drama....no really interesting but taking so much energy from me that pictures of me pouting was not really worth publishing !

OCTOBER : Here I come! a new me with 26 lbs left on the side of the road (on a vicious cycle at the gym to be true !). I am really proud of me so I'll probably brag about it, publishing outfits of the day, be ready !

PS : Can't remember at all what I use for the EOTD : probably Carbon (MAC) on the lid over a black base (L'Oreal HIP liner), Twinks (MAC) in the crease, Wedge (MAC) to blend into highlight Helium (Annabelle)

OOTD : an old ESPRIT dress (3-4 years ago) that I can wear again (yeah to weight loss, you can shop your stash and rediscover old loves !). My Aldo bag and a brown belt From Joe Fresh (yes you heard me that brand you find at your grocery store aka Loblaws...). I cut my head off as it was scary ....Sorry for what it reveals of my sanity, problem with self esteem and stuff haha

Caribbean seas, Mrs Pepperpot and her bun

EOTD : inspired by my tank top...I know the Queen of heart will decapitate me over the unthinkable : She matches her make up with her cloths !!!!

I made a funny experiment : I used Shimmermoss from MAC under my eye, then I mix colors from my sleek palette to achieve the same color in the outer V...Can you tell the difference, I can't ! Sometimes, we obsess over a color we want so badly and with a little bit of blending and mixing, we can produce the exact same color so the same effect, no ?...

I used a matte white from Annabelle (which name I can't remember) on the lid. It's comparable to Gesso (MAC). Eyeliner : MUFE flesh color from the set of aqua colors pencils. Mascara : L'Oreal Telescopic....

Why the Face ? I was told by a colleague that with my bun, I reminded her of Mrs Pepperpot. OK , She was a nice cartoon (old) lady helping everybody but not exactly the description of GLAMOUR. If you are too young to know who is MRS Pepperpot :

1- I hate you just ..because you're too young

2- Go and google it to estimate the level of Glamour (I'd say 0.5/10)

So instead of a classic bun, I did a twisted one to prevent me from ever looking like Mrs Pepperpot EVER AGAIN !

JOTD : very easy DIY earrings. Those beads were part of an old necklace that was totally destroyed. I kept all the beads and save those big ones for pendant earrings...

a treat : a 5 lbs gift to myself ;-)

So as I reached my goals to lose 5 lbs more quickly than anticipated. I could treat myself before the end of June (time when I was supposed to be lighter from those 5 lbs ...). As I work in a pharmacy, I found this great bargain : Olay Bonus pack for 20 $. There are a cleanser pore scrub, a body lotion (recommended by dulcecandy !), a classic moisturizing lotion, a replenishing night creme and a sample of a restorative sleep cream. As I never tried anything from Olay and my night cream is running low, I found it was a great way to test the brand...

Then we spent the week end in Knowlton , a charming little village south of Montreal and as I was in a pharmacy to pick up some liquid to clean my lenses, I found that the Revlon scented varnishes were in "special" sale. So I picked :

- Bubble gum : a bright fuchsia color

- Gum drop : a nice lavender color

- Grape Icy : a vibrant purple

In a bin, I found 2 sad NYX e/s :

-Olive green

-Lime juice

I couldn't let them cry from despair in that bin of shame so I brought them home. I decided to pick a back up of my favorite highlight color for my under brow area : Helium from Annabelle.

Then, I found the "impossible-to-find-in-a-retail-store" NYX jumbo pencils in :

-Milk (back up as my old one is running low)

- Purple

-Iced mocha (stunning shimmery brown taupish color)

Can you feel that I am ready to lose 5 lbs again ?

This quote is from George Orwell (MUA putting her glasses on to look really brillant) .... OK ,OK, I googled it (MUA bowing head with shame !). But I had to find a title with the word MYTH in it ! Remember, this blog is about improving my english skills...

SO to the EOTD :

TFSI as a base
Myth pigment (Annabelle) used all over the lid. First, I mix it with eye drops to make a paste : it's called foiling pigments if I remember well...Then I let it dry and I add a little dusting of the dry pigment with a fluffy brush to bring out the sparkle....Ohohoh, what a surprise, isn't that a pigment sampled in my GIVE AWAY ? Yes, it is !!!! I's a beautiful taupish, silverish color infused with glitter. I love it really ...a lot...

Annabelle painted love reinterpretation

Annabelle launched a limited edition collection for spring with 4 new shades. I bought 3 of them and decided to see how they could work together...I loved the look a lot and ended up adding 3 more colors : Rainbow Caroline !

Eyes :
TFSI as a primer
Gosh love that Dolphin color base : it's a baby blue color in the inner corner
NYX Jumbo eyepencil in Yellow: rest of the lid for a cream color base
e/s (take a deep breath !) :
Nymphet e/s (Annabelle) in the inner corner over Gosh base
Chick e/s (NYX) rest of the lid over NYX yellow
Toxic garden (Annabelle) to blen Nymphet(turquoise) and Chick (yellow) into a green color (Toxic). Can you see I was a good girl in kinder garden ??? I KNOW my colors ...
Deep purple e/s (NYX) from crease and up to browbone
Helium as an highlight color
Wedge e/s (MAC) as a blending color to fade the purple color into the highlight
and TADA last one : Graffiti (Annabelle) to give some depth to outer V and crease
Mascara : Voluminous from L'OREAL

Swatch time : Annabelle cosmetics haul !

So here is my first attempt to deliver proper swatches from Annabelle cosmetics e/s : those are from my last haul (they were in sale 3.99 CAD $ and I had 2$ coupons off !). I can't believe I bought so many high end e/s. I know, I know, we don't want to end with e/s with no pay off so it's easier to reach for 15-20 CAD $ to make sure the color in the pan is gonna stay the same on your lids...So, let's go out of the comfort zone , girlies and try some new makes !!!

This try was rewarding , I think I found my favorite black ever (put to shame Black tied...), I found a perfect dupe for Shroom, and so on...

So from left to right :
Toxic garden : a dirty lime green. a very complex color , sort of an olive green that has not received enough sun. Perfect for an all over lid color with some pink in the crease (Think Barbie loves MAC kind of make up ...). I can think of a lot of winning associations with some dark golden olive, Brown crease ....It is a shimmer.

Nymphet : a pale turquoise color, it can't choose between green and blue. It is what I wanted Shimmer moss (MAC) to be. It is a matte e/s, a bright one : pay off is there so easy on the patting process...

Indigo glow : again this one is between purple and blue. If you're afraid of blue on the lids, this is a good option because it's not a "BAM in your face" color. I think it's very versatile : could work in the crease, all over the lid , or to top a waterline when you don't want plain black or Navy blue. It is a matte as well.

Graffiti: a shinny black (the glitter is turquoise-silver depending on the angle). I think It's gonna be my favorite outer V color for smokey looks. I tried it with a dark blue color all over the lid yesterday and it was stunning. Blends like a dream (Can you hear me Carbon (MAC) !????). it is a glittery one.

Gold digger : a champagne color. It is a staple pale gold. Perfect for a quick look in the morning : all over the lid with Foxy in the crease and a winged liner. Staple, I said ! It is a Shimmer e/s.

Helium : last but not least. Shroom is my everyday highlight color and this Helium is a perfect dupe. I haven't swatched it as it is barely noticeable on my skin tone. It's just my flesh tone in better. I know I seems to be a little bit enthusiastic with this one (talked about it in 3 posts already but spending 1.25 CAD $ instead of 15 makes me happy...)

I have a few other colors from the Annabelle cosmetics collection that I am gonna review may be tomorrow as I tried to do my eyes yesterday but the peeling started again so no EOTD for the week end for me !!!

I am not paid to do this review but I received products from a contest a few weeks ago that were offered by the same company. Those products were purchased with my own money and my opinion is of course subjective...I will review the one I received for free in a separate post.

Easter eyes : pastel blue and green !

DUGH ! I can't remember what I used !Probably Painterly Paint Pot as a base, then blue shimmery e/s from Ardene and the bright green one is probably an Ardene one too (they don't have names poor babies, just numbers but I depotted them so no clue about that !). I always blend with Wedge (MAC) and the highlight is probably Shroom.

Speaking of Which (shroom), I think I found a dupe in the new Annabelle cosmetics launch : Helium. I am so thrilled because I love Shroom as an highlight but the cheaper version is enchanting me !
