OOTD : Lara Croft and EOTD : Pixiwoo's

Yesterday, I HAD to go to the Annabelle Warehouse sale but I was short in time as we had to meet friends for a casual supper later in the day ....
So I decided to pick a comfortable outfit to fight the crowd but I had to glam it up for the night so I put on my new fierce boots :
Jacket : Patrice Breal collection (gift from mum !). I love it : I've been wearing it non stop since I got it. It's in linen, it's kaki, it has gorgeous military details (zippers, metallic buttons...) : what's not to love ?
Shirt : in taupe color from Cassis. I bought the shirt for 5$ last winter at the end of the season. It was on the clearance section and a button was missing (for 5$, I ca sew a button !)
Green military pants : Winners . I am a "dress" girl but sometimes I find some pants that don't make me look like a 10 year old boy so I splurge !
Cream boots : Loooooooooooooove them to death. I fell dangerous and Sexy in those. Winners again for 50 $ ! (because there is a stain the size of an ant on the right calf ! Woop, woop in my cart ...)
Big chunky belt and jewelry : no name brand (offered by mum ...again !)

This 2nd pic was taken by hubby discovering a new passion : fashion photographer. He was quite into it, yelling orders : walk, turn, spin, jump ...(Jump ???? in heels ???)
So I obeyed like a nice little wife I am and walked...

Last pic of the outfit : just for the pleasure of showing off my beloved boots !

Make up now ! I copied this look from Pixiwoo. I am such a big fans of the sisters, they are so amazing ...

Products used :
MAC fluidline in rich ground as a base
Sleek palette in Storm for e/S
Marcelle Volume Precision in Black
Annabelle smoothliner in rich chocolate
Rimmel vintage pink on lips

a Kuuipo1207 inspired look : Purple and Olive EOTD

Sorry for the poor quality of the pics. Normally, I take a billions photos to find 2 or 3 that are worth publishing. Yesterday, as I was late for work I just snapped 5 photos (2 of them were blurry and 1 : I had my eyes half closed !). So here are the 2 survivors of my "erase-it-all" fury !

EOTD : the simplest make up look ever inspired by the gorgeous Kuupio1207. She was the 1st youtube guru I followed and you all know the 1st one always stays in your heart forever... I picked the Purple from the Original Sleek palette and the Olive Green. I just used vanilla e/s (MAC) as an highlight. And tada : you're done ! Well, you have to do a little bit of blending with the purple which is not an easy little guy to work with but that's something I can tolerate as the pay off is so good

Weight loss challenge : Last night, I heard whipped cream, chocolate bars and chips crying my name ...I am sure my hypoglycemia is tricking me (Though the sobbing of the chocolate bar nearly got me !). I will go to be weight, scaled (I don't know the proper word) on Wednesday morning : I feel a little bit like a cow you put on a scale to see if there enough meat to eat but anyway...I'll go !

Shocker : an unloved nail polish !

There is something deeply wrong with this Nail polish : Jordana from Zoya. This color looks horrendous against my skin tone. It looks like a cheap frosted varnish from the 80's...Then the tip wear lasted 24h (I put it on yesterday night and it showed signs of weakness today !). But that's not it, it chipped (ring finger on 2nd pic)...Last but not least, this is a 3 coats application and you can see through it. I will Konad it tonight to try to make it work (I hate not using my products !). I guess I showed quite clearly my colors but if any doubt subsides : shame on you , Zoya !

EOTD : soft and girly pink and purple combo (Pink from Sleek Sunset palette, Purple from Bohemian palette and Print (MAC) to darken the outer V).

I haven't posted a FOTD as on the pics I took, I looked :
1- on drugs
2- like I drank 100000000 martinis
3- hysterical with my hair like a fur ball all over my face
1, 2 or 3 were all true in the whole bunch of pics I took. As I was heading to work (blah for working on week ends), I was neither under the influence of alcoholic beverage nor illicit drugs so I kept my pictures for the "move to trash" button ;-)

a blue cloud and twisted hair !

a very simple cream and navy eyelook using my sleek palettes. I decided to go down all the "blue" way , using navy eyeliner ( a Covergirl one that is awesome but sadly discontinued) and navy mascara (Marcelle Ultimate lash in navy) which I 'll try to convince you to buy as it's AWESOME ! here we go ....

The color on the lashes doesn't show on the pics but I find the blue color a nice alternative to my usual black. It's not a "in your face " electric blue, more a dark marine color. I think I'll definitively re-use it when I 'll do a blue eyelook from now on....This product was offered to me by Marcelle-Annabelle representatives and I was very happy to try it as I wouldn't have spend the money on a blue mascara. I guess I am still traumatized by an old aunt who was wearing electric blue mascara on spider lashes YUK ! Will I repurchase it with my own money once it 's dried out ? YES, I will ....Why :
1-I like the color: it's an easy way to go out of a "comfort zone" AKA black mascara without looking like a Barbie on crack (blinking at Robin there !)
2-As my Volume precision mascara (Marcelle again), the quality of both the brush and the formula is amazing. I always find other mascaras to be too pasty (so hello clumps) or too watery (hello spots on my eyelids ruining my blended e/s). With this mascara, you have the perfect balance of a formula that you can spread easily without dreading the transfers on the lids
3-It's a drugstrore product so price is easily affordable if you wait for it to be in sale

So interested ? Would I be a convincing SA ?....

I am a fake bohemian !

I was inspired by Eden to do this look as she said that the Cranberry color from the Bohemian Sleek palette was melting like a dream into the purple. So I had to try ! I went out with some of my colleagues friday night so I decided to make it a little bit dramatic : thick eyeliner and false lashes !

JOTD : big earrings offered by my friend Cassandra. She said they were too heavy for her ear lobes and she gave them to me. Hello, babies (steamy voice)... Welcome to my family! My ear lobes could reach the floor, I'd still sport them as they are GORGEOUS (Cassie, you're my hero! Giving your goodies to adoption is such a noble gesture haha). The necklace is the charm taken from my Juicy couture perfume bottle (Viva La Juicy)

EOTD :
TFSI : primer
Bohemian sleek palette using the cranberry and the purple color
Wedge (Mac) to blend
Helium (Annabelle) : highlight
false lashes : Annabelle

Lips :
NYX round lipstick in Ceto

Skin :
Zebra bronzer (Annabelle) in little touch on the forehead, as a contour for cheeks and sides of the nose
NYX blush in Angel

Hope everything is going well for you all

Darth Evil make up : red smokey !...and JOTD

Last Saturday, my daughter was invited to a birthday party which theme was Halloween (I love kids for their ideas : Halloween in April isn't that awesome !). So we went for a Dracula costume and of course I did my girl's make up. I find it so fun on her face that I had to try on mine ;-))))

Eyes :
TFSI as a primer
Cherry NYX jumbo pencil as a color base
the fiery red cranberry color from the Sunset Sleek palette
Graffiti (Annabelle) as an outer V color
Vanilla (MAC) as an highlight color
Wedge (MAC) to blend
Telescopic mascara from L'Oreal

Skin :
Skin true foundation in medium beige : it was the first time I tried this foundation from Annabelle (offered to me by the company). I was quite impressed but I don't want to rush the review , I want to have a fair opinion after several days of wearing it.
Revlon bronzer as a contour
Vanilla pigment (MAC) as an highlight : cheeks, bridge of the nose, cupid bow
Angel blush from NYX

Lips :
NYX mauve lipliner
NYX Tea rose lipstick

JOTD :
classical big red earrings with a assorted necklace

Blue smokey : colors and base !

This post is gonna be about how a color base cream can change your make up look ! As you can see from the pictures, This is a BLUE smokey....Well, I was supposed to do a GREEN smokey that day...How come when you put an Emerald like color as a cream base under your powder GREEN e/s, you end up with blue ! I probably haven't listened well in primary school when I was taught about the colors...
I already did a post about base with the Club look I did before but Club(MAC) is a duochrome....The color I used from the Storm Sleek Palette is a very dark green...I have no clue of what happened there but it was pretty so I accepted my fate ;-)

Eyes:
TFSI as a primer
HIP liner in TEAL (I see Emerald green but may be I am just color blind...)as color base
The GREEN color in the Sleek palette
The soft brown color in the Storm palette to blend in the crease
Helium e/s (Annabelle) as an highlight (How surprising !)
Graffiti e/s (Annabelle) as an outer V color : I absolutely adore this black e/s with blue looks, it's perfection !
Mascara : Telescopic from L'Oreal ...The last one from my stash before I can OFFICIALLY re-start my HG Mascara and You 're gonna be so sick of hearing me raving about it !!!

I hope you liked it and if you understand the blue-green weird thing, I am all ears !

Sunset eye with a sleek palette : colorful look !

The Sunset palette was the one I haven't tried yet ...So here it goes ! Sunset look with the Sunset palette : how appropriate ! I grabbed my Bohemian and Original palette too for the purples in the crease. It was bright , let me tell you. Ii was my day off so I could experiment with colors. The issues I had were with the blending again : I find those colors are really difficult to work with but the look was rewarding so I guess I can live with that.
I used NYX Jumbo eyepencil in Yellow as a base color

I hope you liked it

Matte purple versus shimmery purple : battle of the EOTD

The first pic is done with the Original Sleek palette: shimmery purple with a hint of dark black in the outer V.In the last 2 photos, I wear the matte purple from the Sleek bohemian palette blended with a chocolate color into the crease.

In pictures, I prefer the matte look but in reality the whole look was prettier with the soft shimmery purple. Plus, the matte purple tends to fade in a weird pink color at the end of the day... Do you have the same problem with your matte colors, a change in pigmentation ?

Not really inspired today, I worked all week end long and I feel exhausted...

Have a beautiful shinny day , gorgeous ladies

An Olive EOTD with sleek palette and a review

I love to play with my new toys !!! I just use the original in this look as I wanted to try the Olive color bottom line last color on the left. I will not link all the products I use because I prefer giving the 1st impressions I have on those palettes.

Cons :
it's not really a problem but the palettes are really tiny, I thought they looked bigger when I saw them on you tube.
Consistency of the e/s : they are on the chalky side ...I don't know if my eyelids are now highly sensitive but the texture of those e/s isn't very pleasant
Blending problem : probably because of the consistency, I find them harder to blend than some of my powder e/s that are more on the creamy side.
No highlight color : as those e/s are shimmery for the most part (even looking metallic for some !), I regret that there is no beige highlight in each palette. You have the black outer V color in each kit but no highlight...

Pros :
Palette look : very sturdy, doesn't look cheap. I think those palettes would resist a incredible travel in my (gigantic) bag without breaking.
Color pay off : I just tried 2 of my palettes : Storm and Original and the color pay off is absolutely amazing in both of them
range of colors : those palettes carry 12 colors and I love the mix they did, to offer such a wide range of hues to try
Staying power : I always use a primer to make my make up stick to my lids all day. But sometimes, even with my TFSI some colors fade away. I worked 9 hours yesterday, went back home and the make up was still flawless on my eyes. So staying power is gorgeous

Do I recommend them : absolutely ! Because, even though I don't feel those e/s to be comfy on my lids, they look gorgeous on my eyes. I know some girls who will understand the concept of stunning incredibly non comfy shoes....Do you wear them ? I do, even if I bleed my feet to death !!!! You get the idea...

Sleek palettes EOTD : Blues for a belgium girl !

I received the 4 palettes from Sleek make up I ordered online. And of course, I had to play with those...

Eye :
TFSI as a primer
no base color
e/s :
LID : from the Storm palette : the dark blue and dark green from the bottom line blended together then I patted the bright blue and bright green from the upper line of the Original palette ( Yes, you can see that I played with my new toys !)
CREASE : the fantasmabulous rich chocolate e/s from the Storm palette (last color on the upper line )
Highlight : Vanilla (MAC)
liner : Rich chocolate liner (Annabelle)
Mascara : the abominable Revlon double Twist. I know I made the vow to use up all the mascaras I bought before repurchasing my HG mascara ( Marcelle Volume Precision)...but frankly, I don't know if I'll be strong enough ! I battled 10 min to make this PASTE look normal on my lashes and the brush is ridiculously huge : i could brush my teeth with this thing ....

Hint for the title : the lady behind Make up and Beauty musings challenged me a while ago to use more blues on my brown eyes. I was not so sure I could make it look wearable so that's what prevented me from trying...But I saw her own creation and they were stunning but still classy! So I dove into the Blue and I must say that I loved going out of my comfort zone....

What color scares you to try ? Are you fierce and wear whatever you want or do you stick to neutrals ?
