30 for 30 challenge !

I was working yesterday so no post but here are the items I am gonna use for the 30 for 30 challenge

The rules :
- You pick 30 items from your wardrobe
- You remix them all together for 30 days in a row or more
- You are on a spending ban during the "remix period"

I decided to spice it a little bit by :
- limiting the black items ( I just picked 4)
- adding skittle colors (I went a little bit crazy with colors in my last haul : 4$98 for cardigans....)
- using articles that I bought lately in the sale to see whether they were good investment (marked with *)

So , SHOES :
5 pairs but only 3 pictured :
- black flats from JOE Fresh
- brown flats from Modcloth
- leopard heels
+ 2 pairs of boots : black and brown as we are under 30 cm of snow at the moment so pretty usefull....

TOPS :
- pink sheer top from Le Chateau
- floral tunic from H&M
- white silk top from Cassis (*)
- plain grey T-shirt from JOE fresh
- last minute decision : black wool vest (as I am always cold) from Old Navy (*)

Cardigans and sweaters :
2 turtle necks : camel one from Mango (*) and black shimmery one from Zellers (both *)
1 golden V neck : Zellers (*)
3 cardigans : lavender, teal and taupe from Old Navy (*)

Skirts and dresses :
- brown pencil skirt from Cassis (*)
- Blue silk skirt from JOE fresh
- 2 wool dresses (Benetton and ?)

Pants :
- beige one from JOE fresh (*)
- velvety ones : grey-blue, dusty purple and brown from RW&Co (*)
and the naughty leather skirt (Winners) wanted to hang with the guys....

last minute Outsiders :
- Barbie pink cardigan from Old Navy (*)
- plum top from JOE fresh
- green pea cardigan from Old Navy (*)

I am relieved OOTD

This blog is about :
-improving my English skills
-talking about make up and a little bit of fashion

So tadaaaaaaa today, I'll play synonyms to fulfill the 1st goal of this blog

Caro had an horrendous day at her job
Caro had a dreadful week at her job
Caro had a terrible month at her job

Caro quited her job and is ready for new adventures, now ! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa

To the outfit :
brown turtleneck bought in France while on vacation : Cache-cache
beige kaki pants : Joe Fresh in sale for 9$
Leopard shoes : Franco Sarto in sale too for 49$99 (let's get precise !)
Funky jewelry : gift from mother in law

Camel jacket bought at Zara in Paris (I am SOOOOOOO fancy !) : in sale , a long time ago...So I can't remember the price ....be nice, I am an old lady, my memory is not what it used to be ...
Aldo hat : 3$98 (I told you I'd be precise !)
Bad ass attitude resulting in quiting job : priceless !

Caro-quitter for the sake of her mental state xxx

PS : just to give me a boost of ego : Do you , English people, understand a single word of what I write ? Or do you just watch pics and wonder "who the BEEP is that weird girl ?"
PS II : You'll notice that I start to use slang words ...Is it a clue that my English is improving ?
PS III : Isabelle and Virginie, if you read those lines, the package you sent me was the joy of my ultimately shitty week ! (see again ! forbidden words...I am definitively fluent ....)

The summer OOTD and Sydney's bun

As I said before, girls in blogs inspire me SO much. I saw them wearing summer dresses with tights so I decided to give it a go !

White cotton jacket : from Joe Fresh. I wore it all summer over my swimsuit. Recycling !
Red patent belt : Tommy Hilfiger
H & M floral red dress bought a 100 years ago
big white over the knee socks : Winners
Caramel boots : Sirens

And this is me ! Showing proudly my 1st attempt to a Sydney bun. I received tons of compliments for this bad boy ...I will be eternally in her debt for that !

Caro xxx

PS : Everybody in the blogosphere is doing the 30 for 30. I can't commit to such a task but I have decided that each time I wore an item from my wardrobe, I will put it away. So I'll have to use my whole closet instead of just always wearing the same stuff....Re-interpretation of the 30 for 30 if you want ...

The Minnie mouse OOTD and a mystery solved !

OOTD :
H&M dress bought in sale : 20$ reduced to 17$ because the left strap around the shoulder was un-sewed...I found the dress to be too short so I released the hem and gained about 5 cm....and here you go , you have a work appropriate dress for less than 20 $!
Joe Fresh T-shirt and shoes : less than 5 and 10 S in sale
Opaque black tights.....

Gosh I love that dress : it will be perfect, worn on its own in summer !

JOTD : stolen from my 8-year-old daughter. Yes, I know, bad mum, bad, very bad mum ! (I also stole Halloween candies but only to prevent them from decays...See ! good mum !)

and TADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Juicy tuesday solved the mystery of Satin Taupe e/s for me ...It was always looking bleh on me : I was so disappointed because this MAC e/s is supposed to be perfection. Black base, kids, black base is the ultimate answer to your prayers...The look is not as good as hers because I had a 10 hour wear of it but go and watch her tutorial, she'll convince you (Plus she is Canadian, yeah !)

black coffee with a little cream ...

Big head !

Little body !

EOTD : Sorry, I am washed out by the flash but I did the pics after work and it was already too dark to capture the true colors
I am using again the Wet and Wild palettes :
grey (lid) and beige(highlight) from the Lust palette
shimmery black (crease) and the matte black (outer V) from the Greed palette

OOTD :
a black skirt with different layers : I can't remember where I bought this...
black top with creamy bow : Joe Fresh
Tights : Spanx in charcoal found at Winners for half the price
Shoes : Joe fresh (same bow as the sweater !)

JOTD : bracelet and earrings from Le Chateau . I grabbed those for a fraction of the price because I asked for a rebate as there were some places were the plastic was showing white spots. A few strokes of black nail polish later, they both look brand new !

OOTD : the 10 $ dress

OOTD : Sometimes, you browse the alleys of your grocery shop and between the broccolis and carrots you find that :

You do NOT find this incredibly sexy women in her seducing 30ies but you DO find pieces of outfit that will soon end up being published in a blog.
A nice little black dress for 10 $...The material looks shiny in the pic because of the flash but in reality it's a matte fabric very stretchy and incredibly comfortable.

I love the way it drapes over the knee : good job, Joe Fresh !

Then here is a DIY necklace (done by mum, thank you, mummy !) : she used those little balls that you throw through blowguns at birthday parties when a kid. She put those in a tube of fancy fabric ... et voilĂ  !!!

Caro-sometimes a little black dress is all you need xxx

PS : nails on the 2nd pic are courtesy of Stormy (Revlon) : a true 3-day-wear (no chip, just a little tip wear....goooooooooooooooood !)

The Hourglass figure : OOTD

The weather was fantastic today so we decided to "oxygenate" the whole family and went to Mont-Royal park for a big walk. I wore an old Kookai jacket : you could call it vintage, I guess, as I bought it probably 10 years ago. It came with a mini skirt that once fitted my mini bum...those days are gone ! Then I bought that longer skirt 5-4 years ago and I discovered that the color was a perfect match to the jacket : hooray !

Back of the outfit, for you to see the hat. A beret for a French girl, what can I say ? You can take the girl out of France but never France out of the girl ! I bought it in 3 colors at Aldo : grey, black and cream for 3.99 $ CAD each...They are soft and big and lovely, I couldn't resist !

Shoes and T-shirt are from JOE FRESH. I am not sure I will go on doing my grocery in Loblaws where they sell that brand as I'll tend to grab something not edible each time I pay a visit...

A cute squirrel eating a peanut....Kids had a blast running around the tree where it escaped !

AGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......

First , JOTD (Jewelry of the day) : amazing earrings offered by maman, my dear mother !

Of course, she sent me also the bracelet that sings with every movement I make. I felt like a gypsy ( I had to remove it at work though , my co-workers were not feeling the bohemian vibe as much as I did and the constant Tinkerbell bling bling was driving them crazy.....I wonder why....)

OOTN : not really happy with the shape of the dress that on certain angles makes me look like I am 4 months pregnant...But I like the jacket so much (I bought it in a Tristan outlet for 40 $ !): it makes my waist looks tiny, I adore the bow detail on the belt. The sleeves are falling perfectly in the middle of my forearm (I must have the shorter arms ever, all jacket sleeves make my hands disappear...)
Leggings are from H&M, flats and cardigan from JOE Fresh,

EOTD : Very crappy picture of my make up look : I walked on the thin line between tacky and funny....Grey classical make up all over the lid with my new love : Revolver e/s from Annabelle (a gorgeous grey-purple duochrome that I just bought). black eyeliner (feline khol liner from MAC). and I draw little leopard prints in the outer corner of my eyes with the NYC liner (just a few dots...so easy !) . Lipstick : none left I ate it with my fabulous supper and the pics were taken after going out instead of before (stupido, stupido ...hitting my head on the walls like the monk in The name of the Rose....)

Hope you had a great beginning of a week...

Do you have some mints, please ?

OOTD : an old ESPRIT dress (3-4 years ago) that I can wear again (yeah to weight loss, you can shop your stash and rediscover old loves !). My Aldo bag and a brown belt From Joe Fresh (yes you heard me that brand you find at your grocery store aka Loblaws...). I cut my head off as it was scary ....Sorry for what it reveals of my sanity, problem with self esteem and stuff haha

The way to make your belt looks pretty : inspired by Anh whose blog I am obsessed with....

A champanish-olivish kind of eye : Champagne (NYX) paired with Club (MAC) and Helium (Annabelle)

See I don't have a problem showing my face !

JOTD : old, old stuff . I can't even remember when I bought those 2 items...

I hope everyone have a wonderful week. And there she goes to work till 22h (bleh, bleh ...)

the Carrot and stick method and NOTDs

I am not sure my naked feet were a necessity but I felt like being an exhibitionist today !
NOTD (feet) : Essie red nouveau. If you want a true red (think firemen red AGRRR !), this is for you. I prefer darker reds but it's quite striking on my feet so I like it !

NOTD ( hands) : Joe fresh nail polish in pastel blue. The make has no numbers nor names so I decided to name it Cinderella blue. I bought 3 Joe nail varnishes last week and this is my favorite color of the bunch. My nails are awfully short and they still look awesome in that color. it's LOVE (plus it's cheap : 3 polishes for 10 $ YEEEHAAAH)

The Carrot and Stick method : For the moment I'll stay away for WW and their fees ;-). I decided that I was on a make up ban as long as I don't loose 5 pounds...But I keep the right to dream and I am starting a wishing list :

TFSI + kit of e/s (insurance policy)
Lipstick : rouge Coco Chanel in mademoiselle (Vanessa Paradis wants me to buy it , I can see it in her eyes ! Plus , she's Johnny Depp lover so she can be trusted .... She has amazing taste)
Nars sheer glow foundation (Lollipop26 is a dangerous woman !)
Annabelle bronze smoothliner in Bronze (Kokolaroo is a dangerous woman too...)
MUFE camouflage set in 02

Hum, that's a lot of 5 pounds off my butt !

Hope you have a nice Wednesday, lovelies

a little Haul and 2 swatches ....

A fun summery bag from Aldo. I like the shape. I can't afford a Speedy From LV (LOVE and drooling) but this little bag makes me happy !

3 new nail varnishes from JOE : a pastel yellow, a pale blue and a dark shimmery deep blue. I did a NOTD with the Pastel yellow yesterday. 3 for 10 CAD $. doudoudoudoudou......

2 Rimmel lipsticks : Vintage pink ( a dusty rose with a purple hue), Red lust (mid coral-mid red)

LUSH shampoo in Cynthia La Belle Brune. I had a sample of this one when I purchased BIG shampoo and I had to come back to pick it up. The smell is weird but it makes the hair so shiny and soft !!!

Hope you had a good Monday

Helicopter inspired make up : Pink and yellow !

The weather is absolutely fantastic here....Sunny, warm, breezy ! So with this little wind , some "helicopters" are falling from the big tree in my front garden. They are shimmery pink and yellow and I decided to copy them ! Helicopter's eyes ... No war related though, all peace and love !

Then I decided to spice up this look as it was a little too soft for my liking. I added a fierce liner with dots underneath...

I did my nails too with a new varnish I bought a few days ago. For my Canadian followers, it's sold in Maxi and Loblaws. The make is JOE Fresh. This color is a pretty pastel yellow. The application was a nightmare : you have to hold the big round cap and the brush is too short and fluffy.... But the color is really nice. I Konaded it in the evening with dots and a pink Konad special polish (the one with the Coraline KIT) : well that's a neon pink and I 'm not a big fan...My nails are so short , it's almost painful, they break and split like crazy...I started Vit B complex and Omega 3 : I'll keep you posted on the efficacy.

Have a wonderful sunday !
