OOTD : Lara Croft and EOTD : Pixiwoo's

Yesterday, I HAD to go to the Annabelle Warehouse sale but I was short in time as we had to meet friends for a casual supper later in the day ....
So I decided to pick a comfortable outfit to fight the crowd but I had to glam it up for the night so I put on my new fierce boots :
Jacket : Patrice Breal collection (gift from mum !). I love it : I've been wearing it non stop since I got it. It's in linen, it's kaki, it has gorgeous military details (zippers, metallic buttons...) : what's not to love ?
Shirt : in taupe color from Cassis. I bought the shirt for 5$ last winter at the end of the season. It was on the clearance section and a button was missing (for 5$, I ca sew a button !)
Green military pants : Winners . I am a "dress" girl but sometimes I find some pants that don't make me look like a 10 year old boy so I splurge !
Cream boots : Loooooooooooooove them to death. I fell dangerous and Sexy in those. Winners again for 50 $ ! (because there is a stain the size of an ant on the right calf ! Woop, woop in my cart ...)
Big chunky belt and jewelry : no name brand (offered by mum ...again !)

This 2nd pic was taken by hubby discovering a new passion : fashion photographer. He was quite into it, yelling orders : walk, turn, spin, jump ...(Jump ???? in heels ???)
So I obeyed like a nice little wife I am and walked...

Last pic of the outfit : just for the pleasure of showing off my beloved boots !

Make up now ! I copied this look from Pixiwoo. I am such a big fans of the sisters, they are so amazing ...

Products used :
MAC fluidline in rich ground as a base

Favorites of the month : July !

I don't buy LE items so the products I am reviewing are all easy to find (no treasure hunt !)

Lipstick : Rimmel Vintage pink. I don't like the packaging (too tacky for me) but I like the color. First, when you look at it , it screams BORING. It's just a dusty pink....But it became my purse-lipstick because it goes with everything. I now that it 's not as neutral as all the beige lipsticks that are supposed to be considered as wearable (like Creme D'nude from MAC or GOSH darling and so on...) but it's MY neutral lipstick. I find it very flattering, it has a good staying power and it's not drying. It's quite cheap so what's a girl got to do ??? Resist ??? Nan !

Primer : Monistat chafing gel which is called Soothing care in Canada. I barely used it in winter under my foundation because I didn't find it was really useful to add a new layer of product on my face. But this summer is so hot, that I tried it just under my loose powder (no liquid foundation for me when even the road melt in my street !). I am SOLD ! it kept the powder in place all day long at a BBQ party I went on Sunday. I even tried it all alone and it made my skin look fantastic...

Eye cream : Marcelle New Age anti wrinkle + firming eye and lip contour cream. Yes, I know speaking of wrinkles in a blog world full of beauty and make up is not really glamorous but...if you don't want your eye make up to look like crap, you need a good base, no ? I never really believed in the miracles all eye creams are supposed to do : erase wrinkles, prevent discoloration of the eyelid skin, destroy under eye black circles and so on....But again, the result speak for itself : my eye area looks brighten, it's more "plumped" than a month ago. So I am not saying my wrinkles disappeared but they are less obvious. So it's good enough for me. Plus the pump is really useful to prevent loss of product (it delivers the perfect amount). And, as I am a germ freak, I find it really clean. Last thing : it seems to last for ever (told you this pump was a marvel !!!)

Body Cream : the Quench line from Olay. Recommended by dulcecandy so I bought it, tried it and loved it. I gives a nice sheen to your skin and it solves the "crocodile" skin. LOVE IT !

Annabelle Zebra bronzer : a must have for fair ladies. you can really build the color and you don't look like "hou I am pale but I used a bronzer to look like J-LO"effect. I used it every single day since I received it and I am sure I 'll keep it for a contour color in winter. a keeper ...

Wipes : Neutrogena Deep clean wipes. Recommended by Lollipop26 so I bought it, tried it and loved it (haven't you heard that before, I am such a sheep in beauty "hauls" beheheheeeeee). 1 wipe is enough for the whole face and it works really well in taking out all your make up when you are in a hurry.

Hope you liked the reviews, have a nice day !

Favorites of the month : MAY !

Bath product : hum shower product in fact ! The Viva la Juicy shower gel...I normally don't buy products derivated from a perfume that I wear, but when the whole bunch (shower gel, body lotion and perfume) costs less the the perfume itself....I know this sounds a little bit ridiculous as I am 35 and Juicy couture target is probably teen-girls or women in their early 2os but I adore the 2 perfumes I got from this make. The shower gel is really faithful to the smell of the perfume, the texture is delicious (quite thick) and it melts in the skin in a luxurious foam...yum yum ! Cost : offered when purchasing the 50 ml perfume (as well as the body lotion...me liking freebies!)

Shampoo : Lush one, Cynthia la belle brune. The fragrance can surprise, the SA gave me a sample advising me against it. Frankly, I don't like the smell but it doesn't bother me that much neither (best proof ever, I purchased the gigantic size!). With the conjunction of BIG shampoo and Cynthia shampoo, I saw a dramatic change in how healthy my hair looks like. I am hooked (and I have 2 samples of conditioners that the SA gave me and I like both of them equally too...LUSH , you got me !). It costs 27.95 $ but you use a 25 cents amount and you rediscover your healthy hair long disappeared...worth it ? (oh yeah !)

Skin products :
1- St Ives Timeless skin daily micro dermabrasion : I know some of you find those products too harsh, I know dermatologists speak against this make but I like it ....I am still using the toothbrush method to deeply clean my skin (toothbursh is my cheap option to a clarisonic device). The combo made a change in the way my skin looks like. I got rid of those little bumps under the skin that made my skin uneven....I am sold ! I can't remember the price but I' d say it costs less than 5$...
2- Marcelle New age anti wrinkle eye and lip : You know that I can't get enough of my Marcelle-Annabelle products. For the record, If you want to know where both makes stand, Marcelle would be the older sister of Annabelle ! I used to buy eye cream without any enthusiasm before : just something that you need but doesn't change that much the way you look. This product made me change my mind ! I don't know how to describe the "comfort" it gives to my under-eye-area ?! the pump delivers just the right amount of a creamy-whipped product. When I wake up in the morning my under eye area looks brightened and fuller (less dreadful dark deep circles). As a consequence, I noticed that my wrinkles seemed less harsh. this product was offered to me but I swear, I'll be repurchasing it...

Make up items :
1- Mascarassssssssssssss : I 'll say it over and over again. Marcelle mascaras are ZE BOMB. period. I was offered the Ultimate Lash Mascara in Navy (I am sporting it in my lats EOTD) and I always repurchase the Volume Precision as it's my HG product.....Suggested retail price of the Volume precision is 11.95 $, but you can easily find it less than 10 $ in your favorite drugstore depending on the sales they have...
2- Rimmel lipstick in Vintage Pink : it became my bag-lipstick. It's just my lips in better, it goes with every eye make up. It's darker than my beloved Power from NYX so easier to wear. A stapple dusty pink in a lipstick collection IMO. And it costed me 3.99 $ !
3- Annabelle Zebra Bronzer : if you read Canadian blogs, the community is buzzing about this little gem. I use it as a contour and it replaced my Revlon bronzer in my heart. I like that it's buildable, not crazily glittery. I am very pale and it's not too dark for me, it gives you a sheen without you looking like a discoball. I use it at the top of my forehead, side of the nose, under the cheekbones that I don't have and I look healthy even if I lack some hours of rested sleep. A keeper for 10.95 $! it was offered to me by Annabelle representatives but I ' ll happily repurchase it if needed (which I doubt will happen soon as I use it like crazy and you can't even see a dent in it !)

Hope this can be helpfull to you , lovelies

a swatch of red lust on the lips...

So a few days ago , I bought Rimmel Red Lust. I am not wearing red on the lips on a regular basis as my lips are too tiny to sport red properly. This lipstick is a good option for tiny-lipped-girl like me as the color is really buildable from sheer red-coral to orangey-red... Hum orangey-red : not sure I make it sound sexy !!! I had the image of orange lipstick and old nannies that flashed in my brain....But I really like it. Plus, it kept my lips moistured so this is definitively a keeper in my book.

Today no EOTD as yesterday it was 40 C in Montreal...all sweaty and sticky so , I just sticked to basics and it was not that interesting to publish....

have a beautiful day, beautiful ladies

a little Haul and 2 swatches ....

A fun summery bag from Aldo. I like the shape. I can't afford a Speedy From LV (LOVE and drooling) but this little bag makes me happy !

3 new nail varnishes from JOE : a pastel yellow, a pale blue and a dark shimmery deep blue. I did a NOTD with the Pastel yellow yesterday. 3 for 10 CAD $. doudoudoudoudou......

2 Rimmel lipsticks : Vintage pink ( a dusty rose with a purple hue), Red lust (mid coral-mid red)

LUSH shampoo in Cynthia La Belle Brune. I had a sample of this one when I purchased BIG shampoo and I had to come back to pick it up. The smell is weird but it makes the hair so shiny and soft !!!

Hope you had a good Monday

Helicopter inspired make up : Pink and yellow !

The weather is absolutely fantastic here....Sunny, warm, breezy ! So with this little wind , some "helicopters" are falling from the big tree in my front garden. They are shimmery pink and yellow and I decided to copy them ! Helicopter's eyes ... No war related though, all peace and love !

Then I decided to spice up this look as it was a little too soft for my liking. I added a fierce liner with dots underneath...

I did my nails too with a new varnish I bought a few days ago. For my Canadian followers, it's sold in Maxi and Loblaws. The make is JOE Fresh. This color is a pretty pastel yellow. The application was a nightmare : you have to hold the big round cap and the brush is too short and fluffy.... But the color is really nice. I Konaded it in the evening with dots and a pink Konad special polish (the one with the Coraline KIT) : well that's a neon pink and I 'm not a big fan...My nails are so short , it's almost painful, they break and split like crazy...I started Vit B complex and Omega 3 : I'll keep you posted on the efficacy.

Have a wonderful sunday !

a flower inspired make up : MAC pigments

So I was inspired by the lilac in my garden as you can see. They smell absolutely gorgeous and they stand all around my patio so when we eat outside , we're surrounded by a wall of smell and gorgeous grape of flowers ! Hummmmm.....

You probably know that I don't buy MAC products at the moment because of the poor customer service I had at my MAC store. But before the divorce (!), I had time to accumulate things. I have the full custody of the babies mouhahahaha. So my best buy was probably the Xmas pigment set in Cool Capers : Kitschmas, Fuschia, Grape, Deep blue green piggies and Transparent teal glitter. For around 40 CAD $ , you can't go wrong. As I am just a junkie for make up and rarely use my stuff to do anyone else EOTD, it's such a perfect way to discover pigments without having a big container....

EOTD :
TFSI as a primer
NYX jumbo pencil in milk all over the lid as a base color
Kitschmas in the inner corner. Very flattering, makes you look wide awake !
Grape in the outer V.
Note that I had no time to foil them so they were applied dry. They must look even shinier when apply wet !
Helium (Annabelle) as an highlight with Vanilla e/s (MAC) just above the brows
Ardene metallic violet liquid liner

FOTD :
SKIN :shiny land , sorry. Very late in the morning so no setting powder....
Annabelle skin true foundation in medium beige
Contour with the new Annabelle zebra bronzer (been using it everyday since I received it....such a good product. Oups , annabelle did it again (singing with Britney nosy voice....) !
NYX Angel blush
LIPS : my new Rimmel Vintage pink. It was in sale ...I had to try it....Bought Lust Red to : such a nice color between red and coral...couldn't find Kiss me that RaeRae and Beautiful keep raving about (big disappointment !)

If you look at the background of my FOTD pic, You'll see Mister Fox alias the love of my daughter's life alias her doudou....My pics looks so professional and glamour !!! But I found it hilarious so I had to put my very serious face nearby the big red torn thingy....

Have a beautiful day !

A satin taupe make up look and Holy Grail mascara

Hourrah (means how happy I am, for those not speaking french)! First EOTD in a week...My human face came back after 7 days of swelling and peeling. The dark days are over...I went for a subtle satin taupe look, slightly smoked.

Here are the products I used :
EYES :
TFSI as a primer
Gold NYX Jumbo Pencil as a color base
Satin taupe(MAC) all over the lid and in the crease
Wedge(MAC)in the crease and to blend in highlight
Helium (Annabelle cosmetics) as an highlight
Black random pencil for waterline from Personnelle (not very good by the way). I was searching an alternative to the Feline which sometimes fails to stay where I put it and ends up all around my eyes ...Very raccoon friendly...
Mascara : Rimmel Sexy curves in Extreme black . This baby is dying on me : starts to clump and flake. So I'm nearly finished with my project to use all the mascaras I accumulated. A few months ago,I have found my Holy Grail mascara : Marcelle Volume precision and there 's no turning back !
Brows : BROW-zing from Benefit in dark.

Side note : one of my lovely followers asked me if Annabelle products were sold in the US. So as they have a facebook page, I asked them (Am I not totally brilliant ?) and here is the link to order from them if you are US based:

Burnt Orange jam : Panacea inspired look

I loved this tutorial to death ... I think it was fall trend orange cream something....I changed the look a little bit to make it more office appropriate and I am so gonna redo this look (with copper earings and orangey blush it was gorgeous !!!!)

Eyes :
Painterly Paint pot from MAc as a base (sadly TFSI is not working anymore (too old), I had it for more than a year and I had to toss it away although it was still half full ...or empty depending on your mood ;-)))
Dazzle light e/s (MAC) all over the lid
Chick e/s (NYX) all along the crease and up till 1 cm to the eyebrow
Africa e/S (NYX) in the crease, blended over Chick but stopped approximately in the middle of the crease (nothing from inner corner till mid lid)
Rust e/s (NYX) outer V and in the crease but just the outer corner
This look require a lot of blending , repacking the color so if you are in a rush forget about it !!!
Liner : Ardene liner in black not as a winged liner just to give the impression the lash line is more precise and a little flip at the end following your lashes' curve to give the impression the last one is longer (Not sure it makes any sense but I tried hahahah)
lower lash line : NYX jumbo pencil in milk topped with Dazzlelight for a better staying power
Mascara : Rimmel Sexy curves . I like this little guy but Gosh do I miss my Marcelle Volume precision mascara .... I made the vow to finish up my mascara stash before buying the Marcelle one as I know that if I rebuy the Marcelle one , the other are gonna stay untouched and they'll die of it .....

Have a nice Sunday !

Recreation of Jen's Pink and Black eye and nails : tea under a disco ball

Here is the link to Jen' blog and her beautiful look :
http://l1lmamaj.blogspot.com/2010/02/fotd-pink-eyebrows-lady-gaga-face-chart.html

But to the point :

Eyes :
Painterly Paint Pot (MAC) as a base
e/s :
Yogurt (Mac) inner part of the lid then Pink Candy (Ardene) all over the lid
outer V : Carbon (MAC) blended , blended and blended again into Shroom (MAC) as an highlight
Liner : feline khol pencil (MAC) only in lower lash line. I didn't line the upper lash line to make it softer
Mascara : Rimmel sexy curves in extreme black

Brows :
Browzing from Benefit in dark

I must share my love from Ardene e/s : they are creamy, pigmentated like crazy, they stay in place for ever. I can't believe they are so cheap and such good quality. If you are a canadian make up addict, go and grab those ! I bought Pink Candy and Tangorine lately and I will do a look with the beautiful Tangorine as soon as I can . It's a gorgeous orange color (probably a good dupe for Off the page from MAC)

Nails :
Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in grape idea : very soft tea rose color toped with ....
Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Strobe light (holographic glitter)

Hope you like it !
